Red Light Therapy FAQ
St. George, Utah

Everything you need to know about red light therapy at Lume Light Wellness. Can't find your answer? Call us — we love talking about this stuff.

Getting Started

Red light therapy (also called photobiomodulation) uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light (630–850nm) to penetrate your skin and stimulate cellular energy production. It's non-invasive, drug-free, and backed by over 5,000 peer-reviewed studies.

Warm, relaxing, and quiet. You'll lie on our Dahlia red light bed for 15–20 minutes. There's no pain, no UV exposure, and no recovery time. Most clients describe it as deeply calming — many even fall asleep.

The more skin exposed to the light, the better the results. Most clients wear minimal clothing or undergarments. We provide a private treatment room and you'll have complete privacy.

You can book online at any time — it takes about 30 seconds. Or call us at 435-522-4900. Your intro session is just $79 (a $159 value) and includes a full treatment plus personalized consultation.

Results & Expectations

Many clients notice a difference after their first session — better sleep, less tension, more energy. For body sculpting and fat loss goals, we typically recommend 2–3 sessions per week for 4–8 weeks to see measurable changes in inches and body composition.

It depends on your goals. For general wellness and pain relief, many clients see benefits within the first few sessions. For body sculpting and fat loss, our programs range from 4 weeks (8 sessions) to 12 weeks (24 sessions) depending on your goals.

Yes. Red light therapy is non-invasive, drug-free, and has no known side effects when used as directed. It's been studied in thousands of clinical trials. Our Dahlia bed uses medical-grade LEDs with precise wavelength control and zero UV exposure.

Absolutely. Red light therapy complements most other treatments including physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage, and most medical treatments. Many of our clients use it alongside their existing wellness routines.

Body Sculpting & Fat Loss

Red light causes fat cells to release their stored fatty acids through a process called lipolysis. Combined with vibration therapy to stimulate lymphatic drainage, your body naturally processes and eliminates the released fat. It's not destroying fat cells — it's helping them empty.

Results vary by individual, but many clients see 1–3 inches of reduction in targeted areas within the first 4–8 weeks of consistent treatment (2–3 sessions per week). Our programs include professional measuring sessions so you can track real progress.

No. CoolSculpting freezes and destroys fat cells, which can cause uneven results. Liposuction is surgical. Red light therapy causes fat cells to release their contents naturally — no destruction, no surgery, no downtime, no recovery period.

We don't require a specific diet, but healthy eating will enhance your results. Our weight loss programs include doctor-formulated nutrition plans (including keto and anti-inflammatory options) and a 4-week health education curriculum.

The vibration plate creates rapid, low-amplitude vibrations that stimulate muscle contractions and lymphatic flow. After red light therapy causes fat cells to release their contents, the vibration plate helps your lymphatic system flush those contents out of your body. It's a critical part of the body sculpting process.

Pain & Recovery

Red light therapy has been studied for arthritis, back pain, joint pain, muscle soreness, neuropathy, fibromyalgia, and post-surgical pain. It works by reducing inflammation at the cellular level and boosting your body's natural repair processes.

Yes — and many do. Red light therapy is used by NFL, NBA, and Olympic athletes for recovery and performance. It reduces delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), accelerates tissue repair, and improves circulation.

Many clients use red light therapy to reduce post-surgical swelling and accelerate healing. However, you should always get clearance from your surgeon before starting any new therapy after a procedure.

Our Equipment

The Dahlia is a state-of-the-art, medical-grade LED system with over 21,000 LEDs delivering precise wavelengths (630nm red + 850nm near-infrared) for maximum therapeutic benefit. It provides full-body coverage in a single session — far more effective than handheld panels or at-home devices.

Dramatically different. At-home panels typically have a few hundred LEDs covering a small area. The Dahlia has 21,000+ medical-grade LEDs providing full-body coverage with clinically effective dosage. It's the difference between a flashlight and the sun.

Zero. The Dahlia bed uses only red and near-infrared wavelengths. There is absolutely no UV exposure, making it completely safe for all skin types and tones.
